Brown's School of Engineering has a high-impact research community with over forty postdocs in six research programs.
Founded in 2013, the School of Public Health has a growing community of around twenty postdocs in its four academic departments.
Providence and Beyond
Brown is located in historic Providence, Rhode Island. Providence gives you the coziness and familiarity of a small city with the culture and sophistication of a big city. The city boasts over 100 parks, a renowned restaurant scene, a vibrant arts community, and diverse neighborhoods. It also has more coffee and doughnut shops per capita than any other city in the country!
If you’re itching for a change in scenery, grab that coffee and doughnut to go, and drive out to Newport (45 mins), Cape Cod (1.5 hrs), or the Berkshires (2 hrs). If you’re looking to get away to a bigger city, you could drive or take the train to Boston (1 hr) or New York (3 hrs). Perhaps you want to drive to a different country altogether! Canada is only a 5-hour drive away. The T.F. Green Airport is conveniently located just outside the city, and the Boston Logan Airport is an hour away.
