The Office of University Postdoctoral Affairs (OUPA) hosts an optional Welcome Event and Academic Orientation for postdoctoral scholars at Brown University. This session offers a valuable opportunity to meet other postdocs who are new to Brown and connect with the OUPA team.

The program includes a presentation by OUPA Director Audra Van Wart on planning a successful postdoctoral experience, along with an overview of key resources and support services available to postdocs across the University.

Postdoctoral scholars will receive an email invitation shortly after beginning their appointment at Brown. Welcome and Orientation sessions are typically held in August, November, February, and May.

This optional session may complement other required orientations, such as those hosted by International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS), individual schools, or academic departments.
